We characterized a novel stress tolerance gene from Aeluropus littoralis encoding a protein designed as AlSRG1 (A. littoralis Stress-Related Gene 1). Phylogenetic and conserved domain prediction identified AlSRG1 as an uncharacterized protein of unknown function.
